We thought you'd be excited to hear about this unique partnership we've recently formed with Michelle Kauffman Design/MKD, the West Coast's premiere prefab architect. Are you aware of her groundbreaking modular house, the Sunset® Breezehouse™? It's a chic and modern prefab house that's a green dream for first-time homeowners since its price hovers around $250k.

Two MKD clients have hired SMDS to customize and consult on the design of their own Sunset Breezehouses prior to fabrication in their Vancouver factory. We're lending our expertise with material selections, lighting and electrical planning, custom casework, flooring, plumbing and appliance decisions, and, of course, furniture selection and design. Can't wait to see these "luxe" green versions of what is already a sleek and well-designed home once they are installed in Lafayette and Healdsburg. Naturally, we'll keep you posted.

Speaking of green, have you checked out the salads and the space at downtown's latest lunch outpost, Mixt Greens? Talk about a happy marriage of concepts! Our favorite: the "fusion" grilled ahi tuna salad!
